Squash AGM

Hi All,

A small gathering attended the AGM of the club last night.

Summary follows. If you have any questions or suggestions, please email me.

1. Welcome to Jason Rooney who is added to the committee as Social Secretary. He will start a regular newsletter.
2. Welcome also to Pierre Henriot who joins as webmaster, taking over from Bob. Thanks to Bob for his work on the subject! A new web page will be made to replace the old one, and will be part of the existing "mycourts" booking system pages.
3. Teams chat: Members are reminded that the club will not make a Teams chat but they are welcome to generate their own for players they know of similar standard, to encourage games to be organised.
4. Goggles: members are reminded that the club will reimburse 15 Euros for each pair of safety goggles bought per member. This is to encourage safety, especially for new players.
5. Court cleanliness: If courts are dusty please ask the Reception manager at ESCAPE to get them cleaned.
6. Membership will start to be paid next year as it was in previous years: 25 Euros per member or 30 for a family membership. This price hasn't changed in years and is very affordable compared to outside squash clubs! From end of Jan 2023 members won't be able to book courts if they haven't paid. So enjoy your free membership but please support the club by signing up next year :-).
7. Social: A Nosy Komba-related tournament is to be organised on Fri 21st Oct. In November a social event and open evening will bre organised for members and friends. Please help the club grow post-Covid by coming along and bringing friends. Squash is good for your health. Watch this space for news.
8. The concept of "Interactive squash" will be investigated. This is a cool game where spots are projected onto the front wall that players can aim at to get points. It looks amazing. Costs TBC!
